Nick Cion Earns 3 Awards
Nick Cion has been chosen as Staples’ male Scholar Leader. He was honored last night at New Canaan High School, along with 1 male and 1 female senior from each of 22 area schools. Principal John Dodig selected Nick and Kat Krieger.
Nick — a defender on last fall’s state championship team — has also been selected as boys soccer’s Scholar-Athlete. He — and 1 senior representative from each varsity sport — will be honored Sunday, June 13 (Continental Manor in Norwalk, 5 p.m.).
In a unique format, each scholar-athlete is asked 1 question. It can be about his or her sport, academic interests, extracurricular activities or life experiences. Taken together, the answers — 30 to 60 seconds each, some funny, some poignant, all insightful — provide a rich portrait of Staples’ remarkable scholar-athletes.

Nick’s 3rd honor is as a High Honors awardee. On Tuesday, June 8, he and 9 other seniors will be feted at a dinner at Staples, in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement during 4 years in high school.
