Werder Bremen Storms To Super Liga Title

Werder Bremen completed an undefeated season Monday night. The squad — composed mostly of recent Staples graduates — was dominant throughout the year, in the highly popular elite Monday night league.

They defeated Universidad de Chile — the oldest team in the league — in the finals. Chile got stellar performances from keeper Tom Henske, and NYCFC head coach/former MLS and national team star Jason Kreis.

Could Werder Bremen be the next Super Liga dynasty, like the Class of 2006’s Team USA? Only time will tell.

Congratulations to the champs: Nate Argosh, Patrick Beusse, Dylan Hoy, Charlie Leonard, Jordan McNair, Gabe Pensak (absent), Brenden Price, Andrew Puchala, Michael Reid, Greg Shikowitz and Kyle Zajec.
