8 Westporters Vie For State Cup Titles On Sunday
More than a dozen Westporters playing on Beachside Soccer Club’s U-18, U-15, U-14 and U-12 teams will play for Connecticut Junior Soccer Association championships this Sunday (June 6), at Newington High School.
Beachside’s U-18s — with Staples players Michael McCarthy and Alan Reiter — play at 10:30 a.m.
The U-15s — featuring Wreckers Aaron Liu, Jake Malowitz and Taylor McNair — face FSA at 8:30 a.m.
The U-14 contest — with Staples’ Harry Birch and middle schooler Diego Alanis — kicks off at 8:30 a.m., versus Newtown Samba.
Also at 8:30 a.m., the U-12s — including middle schooler Graham Gudis — meet FSA.
The winners continue on to United States Youth Soccer’s Region I tournament, set for July 2-6 in West Virginia.
