Mikey Scott ’11 Crushes Boston Marathon

Torrential rain, frigid temperatures and a fierce headwind could not stop Mikey Scott.

The FCIAC and state champion with the legendary long throw plowed through the Boston Marathon course in 2:45.09. That was his personal best — this was not his first 26.2-miler — and if he had registered as a Westporter, he would have been the town’s top finisher. (He now lives in New York.) Overall, he placed 302nd — out of 29,978 runners.

His “handlers” and cheering squad included his brother Jack ’14, and parents Bob and Karen. All had a great time — especially when they warmed up and dried out.

Congratulations, Mikey!
