Parents Allowed At Varsity Matches

There will be fans on The Hill this year.

With the support of superintendent of schools Tom Scarice and athletic director Marty Lisevick, the Board of Education has decided to allow 2 parents per player to attend this year’s varsity matches — both home and away.

Each player will be given 2 lanyards, to give to parents. No students or other spectators will be permitted, and no fans will be permitted at reserve or freshman games.

“This is great news,” said head coach Dan Woog. “The parents who have supported their sons — and our program — for many years will get to see them in action. We hope they enjoy what they see — and make plenty of positive noise.”

Because many other fans — in Westport and around the world — cannot see games, the Wreckers will livestream every match. Alumni support has been outstanding, with support from the teams of 1969, ’70, ’81, ’82, and several individuals. They’ll be acknowledged throughout the season. Click here for the link — it’s the same one throughout the season.

The Hill won’t be packed with students this year. But there will be parents.
