05 Wreckers Star As Indoor Track Team Earns State LL Crown
Max Hoberman, Walker Marsh, David Hoffman, Kyle Hoberman and Ethan Bradeen spurred the Staples indoor track team to the LL (extra large schools) state championship on Thursday. The Wreckers scored 80 1/2 points, far outdistancing 2nd place Greenwich (55).
Max Hoberman and Marsh comprised half of the 4×400 relay team, which blazed to a 3:29.45 1st-place finish.
Hoffman and Max Hoberman were half of the 2nd-place 4×200 team (1:33.74), while Marsh and Kyle Hoberman also placed 2nd in the 4×800 (8:18.13).
The blue-and-whites had a bronze medalist: Max Hoberman in the long jump (20-05.50).,
Hoffman was 4th in the 55 meters (6.84); Bradeen snagged 4th in the high jump (6-0).
Hoffman and Marsh’s sprint medley relay team took 5th — but the Wreckers’ time of 3:53.05 sets a new school record.
Jack Scott and Tucker Rizzi also contributed to the indoor track team’s success this year.
