03-v-3 Tourney To Aid Darfur This Sunday At GFA
Two Greens Farms Academy students are using soccer to help Darfur.
Andy Mondino — who plays on the Westport Soccer Association U-18 team, and is a Grade 8 referee — and Joseph Filgueiras have organized a 3-v-3 tournament. It’s set for 12 to 3 p.m. next Sunday, April 19, at GFA. All Westport middle and high school players — and adults — are invited.
The cost for a team of 3 is $30; a team of 4 (1 sub) is $35. All proceeds go to Save the Children, to help Darfur refugees.
The tournament includes prizes, a silent auction, Darfur T-shirt sales, and a bake sale.
