The Top of the Hill Team

Mission
The Top of the Hill Team, established in 2007, is an all volunteer organization comprised of parents and alumni dedicated to providing the Staples Boys Soccer program with the supplemental resources needed to remain one of the leading programs in the State of Connecticut. Paramount to this mission is using these resources to ensure the coaching staff has the tools it needs to consistently compete for FCIAC and CIAC honors, educate the young men on the team during their formative high school years, and give back to those affiliated with the program facing challenging life circumstances.

Why Donate?
The simple fact is that the athletic department budgets are not sufficient to keep us in a leadership position and we need your help to carry on the 50+ year tradition that is Staples Soccer. Here are a few of the important initiatives TOTH has funded since 2007 through generous donor support:

Donated HD video equipment, which is used for training, promotion of Staples players to colleges, and international enjoyment via YouTube
Purchased AED defibrillators to ensure the safety of SHS players and fans
Sponsored the “Choices and Challenges” forum on the changing face of high school soccer
Provided funds to alumni who have faced unforeseen life-changing events
Paid for coaching staff to attend U.S. Soccer and CIAC professional development courses
Provided stipends for three additional coaching resources across all boys soccer teams
Helped pay for Super Watermelon Liga referees
Developed the Dan Woog Scholarship for a deserving senior
Anchored the Preston Hirten Fund
Purchased team uniforms
Paid for indoor facilities for off-season training
Funded “Super Fan” buses for SHS students so Staples Soccer has support during important road games
Partnered with Staples Media Lab so future games can be streamed live on the internet
