Brien McMahon Matches Postponed

A number of schools around the state have been hit with COVID quarantines, lockdowns and restrictions.

Brien McMahon is the latest. The school has moved to full remote learning, and all sports activities have been paused until November 2.

The Senators were next on the schedule for Staples: away Wednesday, and home next Monday (Senior Day). Those matches have been postponed indefinitely.

The Wreckers’ next match will be Wednesday, October 28, at Norwalk High School (7 p.m.). No spectators are permitted at Testa Field — but the game will be livestreamed and shown on the big screen at the Remarkable Theater drive-in at the Imperial Avenue parking lot. Details will be announced soon.

“We are sorry to hear the news about McMahon. We wish all their players and students well,” said Staples head coach Dan Woog. “We look forward to having their teams back on the field soon.”
