Cliff Jumping, Mountain Biking, Paintball: Vermont Trip A Success

Nine returning members of the Staples boys soccer team returned yesterday from 4 days in Vermont.

The annual trip — an unofficial but highly anticipated part of summer — included many opportunities for the players to bond. And to get outside their comfort zones.

Mountain biking down the steep Okemo mountain, cliff jumping into the oldest quarry in America, intense paintball and a few rounds of mini-golf were all part of the chance to prepare for the rigors of the season. The team stayed in a private home, with bunk beds and a loft. Liam Bohonnon ’08 accompanied the group for the 5th year in a row — just 2 weeks before his wedding.

“This was a great way to prepare for our STA pre-season camp, and the upcoming year,” says head coach Dan Woog. “Now the magic begins.”
