“Daddy Cregan” Team Takes Quiz Night Top Prize

It wasn’t easy.

But “Daddy Cregan” — the team of Lucas Carpi, James, Corridon, Jackson Cregan, Ben Douglas, Matt Shackleford, Adam Syah, Blake Watkins and Chase Watkins — outwitted more than 2 dozen other teams to capture first place (and a great prize basket at last night’s Staples Soccer Quiz Night.

The 18th annual event was one of the most successful ever. It raised $12,838 for the program. Funds help support field maintenance, video, equipment, the banquet, scholarships and more.

Questions ranged from religion (Francis is the 266th pope) and geography (Hawaii is the southernmost state) to soccer (Abby Wambach has scored more goals than any other US national team player) and trivia (before people answered the phone with “hello,” they said “ahoy!”0.

Congratulations to all participants. Great thanks to chairs Jenifer Gorin and Netta Levy, and the many volunteers who made Quiz Night possible.
