India Storms From Behind, Captures Watermelon Cup
After a week’s delay due to Tropical Storm Isaias, India stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to take the coveted Watermelon Cup, 3-2 over Israel in the finals. The Indians — who had no substitutes — had eked out a 1-0 victory in the semifinals over England, while the Israelis withstood a late challenge to fend off Bhutan 4-3. Congratulations to all, especially the champs: Surya Balaji, Paddy Donovan, Marcos Inglada, Alex Laskin, Griff O’Neill, Zach Pulichino and Lau Ten Cate.
