Lake Placid Trip Another Success

A dozen returning Staples soccer players spent 4 days in Lake Placid, doing everything from cliff jumping to spikeball. (There was no soccer — that’s against state high school rules.)

The annual “team bonding trip” has become an informal (and unofficial) tradition. This was the 10th adventure, and the 2nd time in Lake Placid.

Larry McFaddin ’70 helped arrange a boat trip on the lake. Several players jumped from a 70-foot cliff — and lived to tell the tale. They were greeted by shouts and a horn salute from a passing vessel. Click below for video:

The trip also included a hike of Mount Baker, a visit to the Olympic Jumping Complex with luge riding and instruction in the biathlon, a high ropes course and mini-golf.

Liam Bohonnon ’08 spent his 4th summer as a chaperone; Jack Scott ’14 was the 2nd chaperone.
