Livestream Debuts This Friday

For the second year in a row, every Staples High School boys soccer match will be livestreamed.

And this year’s broadcasts will be better than ever.

All 15 regular season games, plus the postseason, will be available to anyone on the planet with an internet connection. Each match will feature play-by-play — by Robert Brickley (former University of Connecticut star, longtime Wrecker fan and son of Neil Brickley ’71) and Charlie Scott (former Staples player).

In addition, there will be color commentary by former players (and former coach Tom Henske). Guests include Jason Alvarez, Jim Bacharach, Patrick Beusse, Mike Carey, Dan Donovan, Charlie Leonard, Steve McCoy, Seth Sholes and Chris Swan. A few spots remain; if interested, email canfre@yahoo.com.

The first match — with color analyst Jem Sollinger ’88 — is this Friday (4 p.m., home vs. Ridgefield). Click and bookmark this link for all games: https://vimeo.com/event/1256099,

All games will be archived, and available for viewing any time. Click on this link for archived games: https://vimeopro.com/christopherlawhorn/2021-staples-boys-varisty-soccer.

Staples soccer thanks the team of Staples graduate Chris Lawhorn and Matt Bode for their professional production of the livestream, and Neil Brickley ’71 for his financial support of the project.
