Players, Parents Prepare Terrace For Fall

Blistering heat and high humidity — plus blistering hands — did not deter several varsity players and their parents this morning. They worked for several hours in the hot sun, weeding and washing the terrace at Loeffler Field to get it ready for the 2012 season.

Noah Bender and his parents Steve and Val; Joe Greenwald and his mother Cathy Utz; Jack Scott and his dad Bob, and Connor Weiler and his father Tim were the hard workers today. Val Bender coordinated the project.

“It’s great to see our players take such ownership of the program,” said head coach Dan Woog. “And I appreciate the great help and guidance of their parents, too. We’re very proud of our facility, but it takes a ton of work to keep it looking sharp.”

Next up: staining the benches.
