Record Car Wash For Wreckers

A new venue proved propitious for Staples soccer.

The parking lot of Freudigman & Billings — between Goodwill and Stop & Shop — drew plenty of dirty cars for the team’s annual car wash.

Varsity, reserve and freshman (and their parents) worked for nearly 6 hours today. They raised $3,936 — a record — to go along with $750 from a bake sale on opening day. Funds cover a variety of program needs, including the livestream, video, the banquet, scholarships and more.

Congratulations to all who helped. Special kudos to chair Andy Laskin and co-chair Amanda Kuster; Steve and Alessandra Divino, who spent 8 hours on-site, and kept the volunteers fed and fueled; Rob Potack, who cleaned all the towels, and F&B for the use of their parking lot.
