Register Teams Now For Preston Hirten 7-v-7 Tournament
The 5th annual Preston Hirten Memorial Tournament is set for July 4th weekend. This one promises to be the biggest — and best — yet.
The centerpiece of the event — honoring the Staples Class of 2007 All-State player who died in 2009, during pre-season training at the University of Mary Washington — is a 7-v-7 tournament at the Wakeman Fields. The date is Saturday, July 5. Preston’s teammates from Staples, UMD and Beachside will be there. Current Staples players are also invited to form teams.
Play will begin early, so that everyone can watch the World Cup quarterfinals match at noon.
There will also be a barbecue at Compo Beach, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. All are welcome.
