Sean Gallagher Repeats As New England Track Champion; Walker Marsh 3rd

It’s always difficult for a champion to repeat.  But Sean Gallagher — and his same 3 teammates — retained their New England 4×400 relay title yesterday, in Burlington, Vermont.

Gallagher ran the anchor leg.  Raphael Ray, Jon Heil and Jack Roche took it from there.  Their 3:19.26 mark eclipsed their own winning time of 3:19.43 last spring, and was more than 1 second faster than runner-up Trumbull High (3:20.35).  Interestingly, one of the Golden Eagle runners — junior Keith Bond — is also an FCIAC soccer player.

Gallagher, Ray and Roche graduate next week.  Heil is a junior.

Sophomore Walker Marsh joined Gallagher, Roche and sophomore Henry Wynne in the 4×800 relay.  The Wreckers placed 3rd in New England, in 7:50.55.
