Soccer Car Wash Sets A Record

The Staples boys soccer car wash raised $3,010 — shattering the record for the annual event by several hundred dollars.

Over 60 players — and a host of parents — worked 2-hour shifts, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, at Saugatuck Congregational Church. As the skies brightened, cars poured in. Drivers were extremely generous — and very thankful for the cleaning.

Funds raised help cover expenses beyond the Board of Education budget — including paying off the pledge for the Wakeman B turf field, scholarships, the banquet and much more.

Parent leaders Rick Leonard, Bob Scott and Jim Hood thanked all who participated, for helping make this a record-setting event.
