Staples Soccer’s Push Against Cancer

Staples Soccer’s varsity, reserve and freshman teams will all gather at 9 a.m. on Sunday, October 3 at Jinny Parker Field. There — a few yards from the soccer pitch — they’ll pitch in for a “Push Against Cancer.”

The event — involving other Wrecker sports teams too — is a fundraiser for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. That’s the amazing upstate Connecticut (but Westport-based) place where kids with cancer enjoy amazing times.

It costs $2,500 to send one child to camp for one week. That was the soccer team’s fundraising goal. They already surpassed it. Now they’ll try to double it — by doing push-ups, and raising funds from relatives and friends in return for their efforts. Click here to learn more about the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

The morning includes music and food. It’s fun — and important.

Yesterday, the freshman team heard an inspirational talk from Andy Berman, a personal trainer and one of the event’s major boosters.
