Turkey Bowl Set For Thanksgiving — And Help Raise Loeffler Scholarship Funds
The Wreckers begin the state tournament on Tuesday (brackets announced Friday). But The Turkey Bowl — a decades-old tradition for all Staples alumni and current varsity players — will once again be played Thanksgiving morning, at 10 a.m. The site is the Wakeman B turf field.
This year we ask Turkey Bowl players to bring a donation for the Loeffler Scholarship Fund. Every year, this provides a $3,000 or more grant to a graduating senior soccer player. This is our only scholarship fundraiser — and we need your help to keep this going. If you can’t be there, please consider sending a check to Dave Wilson, 28 Craw Avenue, Rowayton, CT 06853.
All alumni and varsity players are invited to play in the Turkey Bowl, and work up a holiday appetite.
Spectators are warmly encouraged too!
