Wreckers Feed Cops

When the Staples boys soccer team heard about a way of helping front line personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, they were happy to help. Girls soccer had bought dinner for medical staff at Norwalk Hospital, from Sherwood Diner. Boys lacrosse fed Westport EMS, through Colony Grill. The football team supplied dinner for the Westport Fire Department, from Viva Zapata.

So last night — thanks to a generous donation by the Wreckers — the Westport Police Department enjoyed a great dinner from Tutti’s. The team picked the Saugatuck restaurant for a special reason: It’s owned by the Funicello family, longtime Norwalk soccer players and fans. (Plus the food is great!)

Westport’s Finest enjoyed an excellent meal. And it was so successful, the boys soccer team is doing the same thing next week too.
