1Wreckers Go 1-1-1 In Glastonbury
Host Glastonbury scored 1st on a well-taken free kick, then outplayed Staples for most of their 35-minute scrimmage this afternoon.
But the Wreckers got the equalizer, on a gorgeous Court Lake-to-Brendan Lesch-to-Steve Smith-to-Greg Gudis, up-the-middle combination, to salvage a draw.
The prior game saw Smith feed Gudis for a 1-0 victory over Guilford.
In the opening contest, Staples’ 2nd unit fell to Naugatuck’s 1st squad 1-0. The Greyhounds’ goal came on a long, looping shot.
The Westporters’ final pre-season tuneup is this Saturday: the traditional Wethersfield jamboree.
