Wreckers Hang With WSA Future Stars

The Staples High School soccer stars of 2021 spent today with the stars of tomorrow.

The Wrecker varsity team traveled to Wakeman, Long Lots and Burr Farms fields, for Westport Soccer Association games at the 2nd through 8th grade levels.

They led warmups, taught a few drills, gave pep talks and cheered on “their” teams. The Staples players were impressed at the skill level of the younger boys, and enjoyed spotting the next generation’s great goal scorers, playmakers, defenders and keepers.

Thanks to all who participated, and to the WSA for helping develop so many future Wreckers.

Jackson Hochhauser, and one team of 2nd graders …

… and Caleb Tobias with another.

Hunter Smith and Ryan Thomas lead 5th-6th graders in stretches.
