Wreckers Open Pre-Season At Joel Barlow
Bus problems delayed the Wreckers’ arrival at Joel Barlow this afternoon.
But when the match — Staples’ first of the pre-season — got underway, the small crowd got a chance to see the 2021 squad.
With 3 newcomers at midfield, and a host of seniors, the visitors did a decent job of spreading the field and creating chances. The lone goal came midway through the first half. Murilo Moreno knocked in Jack Foster’s corner kick, following a keeper error.
There is a long way to go, but the coaching staff was relatively satisfied with the first outing.
Test #2 comes Thursday at Fairfield Prep’s Rafferty Stadium (4:15 p.m.).
