Wreckers Volunteer At WIN Tournament

A record 19 Staples soccer players volunteered this weekend at the 37th annual WIN tournament. They manned timers’ tables, served food and helped out in many other roles.

“The comments we’ve gotten about our guys are fantastic,” said head coach Dan Woog. “It’s an honor for us to do this, because proceeds from the tournament go to the Coleman Brothers Foundation. A lot of our guys have been helped by Coleman scholarships.” The foundation honors the memory of Scott and Keith Coleman, brothers who were killed on 9/11. Scott was a former Staples and WSA soccer player.

Congratulations and thanks to senior Kenny Brill; juniors Ethan Brodows, Chris Martenson and Tyler Wright; sophomores Nick Ambrose, Ry Cohen, Wilson Daniels, Rob Diorio, Daniel Leaf, Tom Messenger, Jared Wainshal and Josh Zhang plus freshmen Emerson Anvari, Colin Corneck, Josh DeDomenico, Nick Hein, Tadeo Messenger, Teddy O’Kane and Callum Wisher

The WSA regular season begins next month, with U-19 and U-16 teams in action.
