WWPT State Final Broadcast Up For National Award
Last November’s WWPT-FM broadcast of the state LL boys soccer final between Staples and Farmington has been nominated for a John Drury High School Radio award. The contest honors the best shows in a variety of categories.
WWPT — “Wrecker Radio” — has 12 nominations. Three are in the same category as Staples-Farmington: “Best Sports Play-by-Play.” Announcers Ben Greenberg and Ben Meyers are competing against a Staples-Stamford basketball game, and last winter’s state championship hockey game against Watertown, along with 2 other non-Wrecker broadcasts.
