Obituary: Ben Wilder P ’84, ’86
Ben Wilder — father of Rob ’84 and Tom ’86, along with other sons Rich and Eddie — died this morning in Florida. He had battled cancer for several months.
Ben and his late wife Joan were stalwart soccer parents. They served in a variety of roles in the early years of the Westport Soccer Association, and continued their involvement as their sons starred for Staples. Rob also enjoyed a great career at Wesleyan University.
Professionally, Ben worked as a banker. But soccer — and his family — were 2 great passions.
The Staples soccer community extends its sympathy to the Wilder family.
