Watermelon Cup Week #6

Going into tonight’s final matches, it was mathematically possible for 4 teams to tie for 1st. It didn’t happen — but there was a tie for 1st, and a tie for 3rd. Head-to-head results gave 1st place to Kazakhstan (1 win over Israel, and 1 draw), and 3rd place to Denmark (1 win over Italy — down 5-1, they won 7-6 — and 1 tie). It was the closest regular season in Watermelon Cup history.

Next week is the semifinals and finals — and the presentation of the watermelon to the winners. PS: Goal of the night was Chester Glenn’s half-volley, from Rob Diorio.
