Alan Reiter And Brendan Lesch Named To All-New England Team

For the 8th time in history, Staples is represented on the All-New England team.

And for only the 2nd time ever, the Wreckers have not 1, but 2 members on that prestigious squad.

Senior quad-captain Alan Reiter and junior Brendan Lesch were both selected for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America honor.

The duo are Staples’ 1st All-New England picks since Zack Gross in 2000.

The only other time 2 Wreckers were selected was 1970:  Steve Levin and Olaf Neilsen.

And Lesch is the only the 2nd Staples junior ever chosen.  Mark Noonan (1981) was the other.

“We knew we had 2 exceptional central midfielders this year,” head coach Dan Woog said.  “Alan and Brendan’s selection confirms that feeling.  It’s nice to know their talent, soccer brains and passion have been noticed by many others.”

Alan Reiter charges through in a state tournament match against Conard.

Brendan Lesch goes head-to-head in the same state tournament game.
