A team balancing veterans (Stuart McCarthy ’78 and Grayle Howlett, former Greenwich High and Middlebury College star), former college players (Jason Alvarez ’02, Chris Meinke ’05) and those still playing in college (Michael McCarthy ’10, Mikey Scott ’11) won last night’s annual indoor tournament.

The event — held in the Staples fieldhouse — benefits the Albie Loeffler Scholarship. Every year, the fund awards several thousand dollars to deserving recipients.

The victors took the finals 5-3 over the Staples 2006 team-based side: Greg Bachman, Matt Lamb, Eric Meyer, Dave Sharpe, Craig Wolgast, and guest player Alter from the University of Mary Washington.

Two other teams were the Dasbach-filled squad of Kurt, Shane and Werner, plus Jim Wolf ’01 and Trevor Lamb ’04, and team of current Wreckers (Diego Alanis, George Kokkalis, Yousef Shahin and Greg Shikowitz, plus Will Meinke ’12).
