George Barrett ’73 To Be Honored By Sportsmen Of Westport

Former Staples and Brown University soccer star George Barrett ’73 will be honored by the Sportsmen of Westport. The annual dinner on Tuesday, May 22 (6 p.m., Continental Manor, Norwalk) brings together past legends, in a variety of athletic endeavors.

In addition to playing on 2 state champion soccer teams for Albie Loeffler, George was a standout basketball and baseball player at Staples. A back injury ended his soccer career at Brown, but he became a teacher and coach at New York’s Horace Mann School.
