Giving Thanks To The Hirten Helpers
Matt Lamb ’07 and Dave Sharpe ’07 — organizers of this year’s Preston Hirten Weekend — send along this message:
We would like to recognize some people who helped make the past weekend so successful.
First, thank you to everyone who participated in the tournament, and to all of those who came out to watch and cheer the players on. It was awesome to see so many people join us in celebrating Preston and the sport he loved.
We would also like to thank Nestle for providing cases of bottled water for all tournament participants, and Bobby Q’s for helping out with food for the BBQ at the beach.
A giant “thank you” to those individuals without whom Matt and I would never have been able to get this going: Mike Sharpe, Amy Lamb, MaryAnn Meyer, Dave and Laurie Gendell, Dan Woog and Stuart McCarthy.
We also want to thank the Hirtens. Not only for all of their help in getting the entire weekend planned and resourced, but also for helping us all stay connected to them, each other, and, Preston.
There were so many behind-the-scenes efforts from so many people that I’m sure we missed someone who we may not even know gave a hand, but truly, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This event means more to us than we could ever say, and it’s only possible because of all the help and support we have received from all of you.
