2Guy Claveloux ’83 Named To Union College Hall Of Fame
For over 5 decades, Staples High School has sent many great players to Union College. One of the best defenders ever — Guy Claveloux ’83 — will be inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame. The event is set for on Saturday, November 12.
Guy played at Union from 1983 through 1986. He was a Division III All-American as a senior, leading that team to a stellar 13-2-1 mark, and a 12th-place ranking nationally.
Guy also earned the Pike Award Winner in his senior year.
His teams were 49-10-5, with NCAA appearances all 4 seasons. In his junior year, the squad went 12-3-1 and reached the NCAA quarterfinals.
This is Guy’s 2nd appearance in the Union Hall of Fame. In 2009 he joined coach Bob Magee and his teammates back on campus, as the 1986 Dutchmen were inducted into the Union Hall of Fame as a “Team of Distinction.”
Guy is a top executive with Marsh’s marine and global energy practice.
He and his wife Yvonne — also a Staples graduate — live in Westport. Their 2 daughters are soccer players as well.
