John Fincher And SLOBS Urge CPR Class Signups
John Fincher is a sophomore Staples soccer player. He also plays volleyball, and is an active member of SLOBs.
It’s in that latter role — with the Service League Of Boys — that Fincher is spreading the word about an important upcoming event.
There’s a CPR class (Sunday, March 30, 3-5 pm, Westport Police Department EMS classroom). It’s sponsored by Harrison’s Heart, an organization named for Harrison Malec. A junior at Staples, he was brought back from near-certain death 2 years ago, when he collapsed while running with the Saugatuck Rowing Club. His coach and a few teammates knew CPR, and saved his life.
The Staples boys soccer team supports John’s work on this CPR class project, and urges interested players, friends and parents to take the class. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org. The suggested contribution is $25.
