Neil Brickley ’71’s Son Named Big East Player Of The Week

Robert Brickley — like his father Neil ’71 a near-unstoppable back — was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week.  The University of Connecticut captain was cited for both his defensive and offensive play.

Robert has played every minute of the season for the Huskies, helping hold opponents to just 9 shots and 0.36 goals per game.  He anchored the defense that allowed only 1 shot on goal in the win against Seton Hall.  In the victory, Brickley scored his first goal of the season with a header.

While at Wethersfield High School, Brickley was named both an All-American and Scholastic All-American, as well as Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Player of the Year.
