Obituary: Lance Candon ’90

Lance Candon — a starting midfielder on the 1988 and ’89 Staples teams — died this summer in Atlanta. He was 52 years old.

He was also a track star at Staples, and continued running at the University of Connecticut. He went on to a career in technology.

Lance was an avid skier and poker player. He also enjoyed skydiving, despite his fear of heights.

His obituary says, “most importantly, Lance was a loving and supportive father to his son Charles. Lance is remembered by his friends as an energetic person who lit up the room, a proud father, and someone who persisted to complete what he set his mind to.”

Lance is survived by his son, Charles; his partner Mylisa; his sisters Lori and Lisa, and his nephew Trevor Lester.
