Chris Martenson Visits Sikorsky

Chris Martenson plans on an engineering career.

The 2017 Staples soccer co-captain has a few months before graduation. But the Staples soccer network is already helping.

On Thursday, Martenson was treated to a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes tour of Sikorsky in Stratford. The morning at the famed helicopter manufacturer was arranged by engineer Robert Brickley. He’s not even a Staples alum — he was Connecticut High School Player of the Year at Wethersfield High School, then went on to captain the University of Connecticut team — but he’s an avid supporter of the program through his father, Neil Brickley ’71.

Staples soccer places a great emphasis on player development, competition, camaraderie and all the other elements that make up a strong team.

But college and career development is just as important. We couldn’t do it without our alumni — and all our other supporters too.
